multidisciplinary artist
Slovenia, Helsinki

Celeste Sanja is a Slovenian-Italian multidisciplinary artist, currently based in Helsinki, where she’s finishing her masters in New Media at Aalto University. Her work and research center on secret societies and their role in alternative social formations, on masking and strategies of sabotage and obfuscation. She’s particularly interested in histories of peasant uprisings and technical objects, approaching tools as living presences that participate in social and material relations. Her performances often involve puppetry, mask making and self-made instruments.
