The evolution of the garlic gnome

The garlic gnome. These fragments, scattered like shards of half-formed dreams, hold echoes of the gnomes they might have become, paths that splintered before they could be whole. I tried to make it right, piecing it back together with my eyes closed, feeling out the shape of what it once was. I glued it carefully—until frustration took over, and the hammer came down. Clay mixed with tears, and now each piece holds its own small breath, whispering a story that's all its own.
